Tiredness after a late night forces me to rest and then prioritise family affairs as the UDR are questioned over Irish atrocities as the evening turned very cold and frost

A lay in this morning after the late night but I still spent the day a little tired and irritable. Whilst resting, to read the morning paper and a few others from my briefcase. Breakfast and then to wash and dress quickly so as to let the ducks out after ten. Next to do the months accounts and draw the cheque for an anxious Diana before off to St Neots to collect Daniel from our rendezvous and take him off to our normal Saturday lunch at the Happy Eater.

After to town via the office and a little shopping before home to spend the afternoon and tea in the lounge. An evening of rest, television and mild paperwork to no great effect. Fun this afternoon going through each of eight photo albums with Debbie and explaining each picture – she is sweet but a bit persistent. News tonight of UDR part time soldiers being held for questioning in connection with terrorist offences in Northern Ireland. Also the harbourers of Donoghue McLinchy being charged with the criminal offence. In the Lebanon Yasser Arafat will be allowed to leave Tripoli under United Nations protection. A very cold and frosty evening.
