Returning to Norfolk as the weather was even milder and nicer than yesterday. Then making good progress as Steve and Alan finished the bathroom tiling and were embarked upon the kitchen tiling and then fitting the kitchen doors. I bought more supplies and fitted door handles, locks and lighting to the kitchen wall units.

It was an even earlier start, rising at 6.00am and leaving an hour later to arrive in Horning at 8.45am. I was looking across the river at dawn and was impressed by both the sound and sight of the many flights of geese that were following the river and would have been within range of a shotgun in my riverside garden. It set me thinking about whether I could take some of them without disturbing the neighbours one morning. I arrived in Ropes Hill Dyke road to find Arthur Edmunds with his worker dumping some filling at the side of the road preparatory to making the road up. He explained to me that Doris had been making his life hell by complaining but that is just too bad.

Steve and Alan had finished the coving, the bathroom tiles and were embarked upon the kitchen tiling which was good progress. I had to rush off to get some more tiling adhesive and grout and then, once back, spent the rest of the day changing the door handles on the back door, fitting the self-closing mechanism and then fitting the lock to the store-room door. There was no stop this evening as I tackled the fitting of the lighting and cornice rails to the wall units. The others had spent some time fitting the doors to the kitchen base and wall units and Steve worked on with me, finishing this process before we both cleared up and came in quite late.

Some cereal and fruit for a fill-in meal, a relaxing bath and then my journal for these last two days. The weather was even milder and nicer than yesterday, and the forecast is for more of the same for the rest of this week which will aid my task of unloading the barge and getting The Paxton Princess into its new home.
