To the Retail Invoice Department, Post Office Counters; Further to our receipt of your latest invoice 9001595, dated 05/10/96 and after we have conducted an exhaustive search of our records and can find no trace of us having received the two items 20 and 50 marked on the enclosed photocopy .

Please therefore raise a credit note for these two items in the sum of £16.86 plus VAT so that we may approve the invoice for payment.
