'To the Conservation Officer, Mid Suffolk District Council about Improvements to windows, Redgrave Spar P.O. & Stores. We were planning to improve some of the windows in the residential parts of the property adjoining Redgrave Spar and were seeking y advice. The area in question known as the “Back Flat” comprised a one-bedroomed ground floor flat to the rear of the store itself. This was currently undergoing renovation works with a view to rent the property out for residential use.

At the same time, to Mr R. Self, Planning Department, Mid Suffolk District Council I wrote, 'Following the Northern Area Planning Committee meeting last month and our subsequent telephone conversation, I should like to confirm that we are prepared to replace the fascia sign at Redgrave Stores with one fabricated from an alternative “matt finish” material, as discussed with yourself. We understand that advertisement and listed building consent has been agreed subject to this condition.

These will be erected in accordance with the drawing sent to you prior to the last Planning Committee meeting, described as Revision 3, dated 9/5/96. We have agreed this work with the sign contractor and Spar and expect it to be completed soon I hope that this timescale meets with your approval. We look forward to reaching a successful conclusion to this matter.'
