The Bedford Oasis Beach Pool
The Bedford Oasis Beach Pool

After some very necessary sleep, more work on the shop accounts this morning after taking Sam for a long walk across the wet and muddy fields.

An afternoon with Della and a trip to the Bedford Oasis Beach Pool enjoying the swimming, sliding and splashing before she typed about her experience on my Psion.

Wiggly and I ended up in the George at Buckden having a nice three course meal.

Wiggly had had a total of 12 hours sleep last night and she needed it.

I tend to forget that in my mid twenties I still needed 8 or 9 hours sleep and that it is unreasonable for me to expect her to manage on the 6-7 hours that I allow for myself these days.

More work on the shop accounts this morning after taking Sam for a long walk across the wet and muddy fields. I was approached by the lady owner of a young golden retriever and gave her some training tips.

Some soup and sandwiches courtesy of Wiggly allowed me to work on but just when I was on time to leave for an afternoon with Della, I had another tiff with her as she wanted me to discuss our arrangements for next week.

I felt that she should have asked me earlier and she was really upset, stomping about, and I did not make her any better by being relaxed about her antics and finding her quite funny.

She brings realism and life to the descriptive phrase, stomping about, but there was little I could do until I got back. I collected Della at 2pm and she had been anticipating her afternoon with me for she had gathered together quite a range of possessions to bring with her.

We quickly decided on a trip to the Bedford Oasis Beach Pool and enjoyed the swimming and sliding and splashing. I took her back for 6pm as promised and collected my mail at the same time.

Della enjoyed playing with my Psion organiser and just like the time I took her to the Safari park, she typed in the following little journal of her own.

Today me and dad went swimming at the Bedford Oasis. When we got there we changed in changing rooms that were next to each other. Once we were changed we went to the toilet and got in at the first set of steps. The water seemed quite cold at first but got warmer as we got used to the cold temperature. When we were all warmed up we swam around for a while and floated in the currents, trying to find a float or ball for the next session of waves. By the time the first session had come we still hadn't found a float or ball but had still had a lot of fun. Once the waves started they stayed slashing at every-one in the pool, determined to drag them to the pool's dirty floor, but we were just as determined to stay above the surface of the water, positive to live to fight another day. We finally won the battle and the waves, ashamed of losing against mere people, shrank back to reclaim it's rightful place on the depths on the discoloured floor.

Once back I found Wiggly in a much more relaxed frame of mind, having completed a number of her jobs and just come back from walking Sam.

We chatted lovingly for a while and then she approached me about going to see a period cottage in Offord Cluny. Although it was a bit of a disappointment when we arrived we did enjoy the drive out and ended up in the George at Buckden having a nice three course meal.

Once back we had an hour before bedtime and Wiggly offered to type up these last few days journal and thus get me up to date. She is so nice really, and even got me a nice Bournvita and banana afterwards.
