To meet representatives from Post Office Counters who had come to interview me for the job of sub-postmaster

Another busy day travelling to first fulfil the pay day for Redgrave Stores and meet representatives from Post Office Counters who had come to interview me for the job of sub-postmaster.

Then to collect Sam from Jim and Julie and Debbie from a school outing who was unhappy after receiving a paint-ball hit her upon her precious fringe..

If we were hoping for any type of rest after the exertions of the last few days we were out of luck for today had been scheduled as pay day for Redgrave Stores.

First I left Wiggly to do some work as I drove up to Sawtry to collect a Land Rover on loan from Robert. I called in at the Hayling View for an hour to get my mail and to take some copying and filing.

We had to first load all of the things into the Land Rover, including Sam's dog box as we were due to pick him up later from Jim and Julie.

The journey to Redgrave went quite well but we were late to meet representatives from Post Office Counters who had come to interview me for the job of sub-postmaster.

They were very good about it and I told them about our troubles and were well satisfied with what I had to say. Wiggly was struggling with the payroll, being the first time she had attempted it but, after a couple of false starts, she got there in the end.

There was much to talk to Sarah about, and even more mail to collect and deal with, but I was very happy with progress and my choice of manager for the shop.

All this done, we drove quickly across to Suton to collect Sam. It had been very good of Jim and Julie to look after him in this way particularly as they now have three dogs of their own, and this was the eve of their departure for Scotland.

However, I think Jim likes being able to return a favour having often been the recipient of one from me. The driving and rushing did not finish with our journey home as I had also to drive out to collect Debbie from a school outing.

They had arranged the activity of paint-balling which she did not like, particularly after receiving a paint-ball hit her upon her precious fringe.

She was very tired and we had little chance to chat and I was only too glad to get home to Wiggly and to bed.
