Playing snooker this evening with Nigel

Reviewing property purchase opportunities with Mary Bloom and making choices and reviewing results. Cleaning the Range Rover, working, walking the dog and snooker this evening with Nigel.

I contacted both Vinters and Ekins about the problems with Harnser planning conditions and will meet Andrew Hind in Horning on Monday

A more interesting day of better news and progress than yesterday. I was called late and struggled to get ready for breakfast and then out to see the dog, but I managed and then walked the girls to the bus stop. They both seem very happy at the moment. A little time in the office talking to property agents on the telephone until Mary Bloom arrived with details of all of the local properties that she had been reviewing for me. Then some time discussing these and cruising around by motor car, viewing some, and calling on more agents until we had a coffee and snack for lunch to discuss the results.

I have concluded that the best type of property is a semi-detached house with three bedrooms, small front and back garden and garage in a quiet position. Inside it needs good curtains, carpets and cooker or fitted kitchen and would preferably have painted rather than wall-papered walls for ease of maintenance. Such property sells for £45K-50K as the asking price but I would want to buy it for £40K cash for quick exchange of contracts and completion. The most interesting property was a pair of derelict semi-detached houses in Cambridge Street, now believed to be the property of the Paines family member Fiona McNish but the latest news is that her affairs are in receivership. For £40-50K, the combined property could be renovated, and the gardens are large enough for another dwelling to be put in there.

The afternoon washing and vacuuming the Range Rover which task was very overdue. More walks for Sam who gets quieter daily but is still a handful. I introduced him to Bill again and he was better behaved than before. At least his evening walk is just about done in daylight now. No progress on the FOCUS adverts today as I preferred to be talking to and meeting people. I contacted both Vinters and Ekins about the problems with Harnser planning conditions and will meet Andrew Hind in Horning on Monday. This evening with Nigel playing snooker and chatting.
