Coping with differences about insulating the ceiling, but I needed it done for Ray to wire the upstairs lights before I left to deposit forms at Eastern Electricity and get more materials from B & Q and Eyre Electrical.

I thus missed the Page engineer installing the drainage and the building inspector but the Stalham Joinery glazier had arrived with the windows too.

Another chillier day and a brave start early with Steve and Ray Lond-Caulk who worked with us for his third day. I got Dave and Steve working on the upstairs ceiling first, though Dave was bitching all the time about the fibre-glass insulation and made a bit of a fuss about me deciding on the priorities for the day. Once they had done, Ray could wire the upstairs lights and then follow them downstairs to complete those in the hall once they had lined the central section. I had to go to Eastern Electricity in Norwich by 11.00am to deposit two forms for supply and connection and then dropped off at B & Q and then Eyre Electrical for more components before coming back to Jewsons to chase even more supplies.

I just managed to install the electric hob in the kitchen before I went and then found out, upon my return, that I had missed the fun. First the Page engineer had come and commissioned the new sewage tank, connecting it to the disposal pipe and adjusting the floats, and then Mr Cooper, the building inspector had actually visited us at long last for the drainage inspection and pronounced himself satisfied with what we had done so far! By the end of the afternoon, Ray had just about finished the wiring ready for connection next Tuesday and the others had broken off from erecting the partition from stairs to kitchen.

The Stalham Joinery glazier arrived after hours, delivering some doors and furniture prior to returning in the morning to fit the windows. After tea, I spent the evening filling in the drainage ditch and then applying the first coat of stain to the first side of all three outside doors. Later relaxing after a bath, watching the TV premier of Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells II and only getting to bed well after midnight.
