Catching up with domestic work in the absence f the gardener, more Financial Planning, and then successfully locating the newest "Theoben .22 Rapid 7" airgun in Norwich and setting off to buy it. Also taking Daniel to buy him a new suit. Back to Paxton to see the girls later

I was tired this morning after a couple of late nights watching TV. Being Friday, the garden chores fell to me in the absence of the gardener, and I also took a good look at the swimming pool. I needed to pull back the cover a little and vacuum out the leaves that had accumulated underneath. I set another mole trap in the area of some suspicious activity but I am less confident of success this time a the worms are beginning to hibernate or go deeper and take the moles with them.

Diana went off to Bedford to get the weekly food from Tesco and then had some lunch before coming home and so I broke off work and telephoned around to see where I could get the newest "Theoben .22 Rapid 7" air gun that was featured in s shooting magazine. The manufacturers in St Ives quoted a timescale of six weeks and the air gun centre in Rayleigh in Essex quoted two weeks. Then I found out that the shooting shop in Norwich had one in stock and so I broke off work and drove over there. I telephoned Daniel as I had promised to get him a suit in Norwich for Christmas and then met him there and bought the suit and so ‘killed two birds with one stone’.

Then to Horning to try out my air gun. I adjusted the telescopic sight and then successfully shot a coot opposite in Ropes Hill Dyke at a range of 20yds. Home after dark, arriving around 8.00pm when I unloaded and set out the wood pigeon decoys on the games lawn ready for an early start in the morning. Della went to a party at school this evening and Debbie stayed up and revised her chemistry before bed.
