Della ran well to come third in her race and win a presentation and certificate for the 50 metres sprint!

A very busy schedule in hot and sunny weather for Della's Sports Day, where she came a creditable 3rd in the 50m sprint but first to sort out my cars. Collecting Debbie after her dentist appointment and enjoying good tennis with her on the games lawn before welcoming Daniel and Angela for an evening’s TV. Good news concerning progress on my Horning timber delivery plans

I awoke well rested after recent days but still had a challenge to get down to breakfast this morning. The girls to school and then I had to drive the Rolls Royce over to Bedford for its MOT. This took an hour and was a success, particularly as it also gave me the chance to complete my National Savings administration in the garage reception. I called in at the St Neots Post Office to tax the car on the way back so that at least I had one car sorted out. Then up to Sawtry with Diana in her car to collect the Range Rover which now has its suspension overhaul complete. I had not been home long before I had to rush out with Diana over to Kimbolton School where Della was competing in their Sports Day. It was a lovely hot and sunny day and Della ran well to come third in her race and win a presentation and certificate for the 50 metres sprint!

We collected Debbie from the dentists in Kimbolton High Street, had an ice cream, and then came home for tea. I had half an hour before tea and so went over to Ibbetts to buy a large 5HP petrol-driven shredder and a 25-litre container of creosote. I called Bill over this evening and we tried it out and it was very successful. A long game of tennis with Debbie who is getting really good and then, after the evening's chores, my journal and to bed. I heard from Jewsons today that the timber will be back in Wroxham at 8.00am-8.30am on Monday and, after re-loading, should arrive at Horning Quay from 9.00am onwards. I made confirmatory calls to Amis and the carpenter for a rendezvous there and expect Steven to join us too. Daniel and Angela came home this evening and watched TV with Jason in the lounge.
