Back at home for a day of catching up on paperwork, recovering from tiredness and time with the family and watching cricket. Investigating supplies of building supplies as Di went shopping in Bedford and Daniel and Angela arriving home for a good chat and meal.

Then with the family off to The Kimbolton dentist with variable results and with Diana to The Cromwell Cinema in Huntingdon to see "Medicine Man".

As always on my return from Norfolk, I have to combine the process of catching up on paperwork with recovering from rather too much physical exertion and this time was no exception. After seeing the girls off to school, I was anxious to deal with the task of getting prices on the nails and studs that were needed and this task led to me being in touch with a range of hardware suppliers including my friend Derek Giles of Sandy, whose prices turned out to be in excess of the others. With Diana shopping in Bedford all day, I had to make my own lunch and so prepared a kipper in the microwave and made some salad to go with it.

With Daniel and Angela coming home this morning, they made some sandwiches and then I had a long chat with Angela as I ate whilst Daniel worked on his car. The conservatory banana tree yielded more ripe bananas today, after the first ones ever yesterday, and both Angela and I had one each and found them fine. The day was also punctuated by the televising of the England vs Pakistan Test match, and I watched some more of this in the afternoon until it was time for Daniel and I to go to St Neots to collect our new glasses. I had opted for a pair of half lenses so that I could look over them when not reading at close range, but Daniel's was conventional but quite expensive and I had to pay for both.

Waited after whilst Daniel had a haircut and then, no sooner were we home, than Diana arrived back and we all had to drive to Kimbolton to collect the girls and then see the dentist. Mr Osborne pronounced Della's and my teeth to be all right but both Diana and Daniel have to go back for de-scaling and Daniel will need a filling as well! Home and then, after tea, I took Diana to The Cromwell Cinema in Huntingdon to see "Medicine Man", a drama about a couple of research scientists trying to find a cure for cancer and save the Equatorial Rain Forests at the same time and we thoroughly enjoyed this outing.

Diana had met Marilyn (McGuiness) in St Neots today and brought home the news that the Paxton Peacock had recently taken up position outside Min Davis's house, Kyalami, in The Hayling Lane and, at her request, had been captured in her garage and turned over to the Wood Green Animal Shelter and so is definitely lost!
