Then on to Hail Weston to drop Nigel’s tie off

After a late night and a tired start to the day, I saw Debbie off to school and then went over to see Sally at the St Neots newspaper recycling event, catching up with her with council news. Then on to Hail Weston to find John Roscoe out but dropped Nigel’s tie off before driving home and watching International Rugby Union. An evening tidying my office and making space for nautical items.

I was very late to bed last night and so slow to get going this morning. After breakfast and seeing Debbie off to school, I went out to do the chores and then took the old newspapers across to the re-cycling collection. Sally was up on the skip and so I climbed up to help her for a while to discuss the news of our election plans. Both John Davidson and Phillip Graham-Claire had decided against standing for additional council seats which was a pity. At least the selection panel had adopted our choices of Ross McKay and John Roscoe for the other District Wards. I left after helping to load the backlog of old newspapers and then got some petrol and the car washed before making my way over to Hail Weston.

I tried to see John Roscoe about getting some plugs but he was out and so I went over to the big house and returned Nigel's neck tie to Lynne. Home via St Neots for the plugs and then settled down after lunch to an afternoon of Rugby Union on the television. An exciting and entertaining opening to the home nations rugby tournament as England beat Scotland at Murrayfield and the Welsh just scraped a win over Ireland at Landsdowne Road. This evening, I worked for hours, tidying up and reorganising my book shelves so as to make room for my nautical charts, pilots and guides that I had brought back from Norfolk. I just had time for this last two days eventful journal before turning in.
