As Diana’s sickness improved and Della became more comfortable playing balloons and generally expending some energy after weeks of restraint, she was not very keen being interviewed by the police but was well tended by nurse Howard.

After a slightly late night, I slept very well and so, it seems, did the rest of the family. Debbie had been sick a couple of times late last night and Diana had improved and today they were both recovering. We decided to let Debbie stay at home in bed and that was welcome news as she would have had a biology exam today! Nurse Howard arrived on time and spent her second morning with Della only this time she managed to meet Diana who was up and about today.

She spent most of the time playing Monopoly with Della but also ensured that she exercised on her crutches and checked out the plaster for any "hot spots" or inflammation. The details of her activities are noted down in a log-book which is most reassuring. I did a little work on some correspondence this morning and then spent time with Della this afternoon. She had two lots of visitors; Grandma and Grandad and then Helen Young with her son which she enjoyed. Della was more active today, wrestling around the floor on her bean-bag, playing balloons and generally expending some energy after weeks of restraint but she has still to pass anything other than urine which state of affairs we do not want to continue for much longer.

This is surprising in view of the size of her appetite since she has been home. W.P.C Burton came round this evening to talk to Della and Debbie but Daniella was not very forthcoming and Debbie was fast asleep and so she will have to come again tomorrow.
