A very full day, reassuring Debbie whose tummy-ache had to be overcome, clearing up and preparing for my Scottish trip and coping with a worrying day with Della's traction which had been readjusted and was causing pain.

I also attended a full HDC Council Meeting and then give history talk to the Kimbolton History Society in the State Room at Kimbolton Castle

I was called by Diana before she went to the hospital and then got up to have breakfast with Debbie who claimed a tummy-ache. She did not want to go to school and Diana would have happily allowed her to stay home but I bribed her with 50p sweetie money to "be brave" and she cheered up to go along after all. I then moved to get my office cleared up and to prepare for my Scottish trip and, this started, I then had to rush along to a full meeting of the Huntingdonshire District Council.

This was a full and active meeting which lasted from 2.30pm until 7.00pm and our political group made a very effective contribution contesting the insufficient level of spending on Leisure and Amenities and use of Planning Gain to secure certain of the open spaces at the expense of the rest. Then the rush home at 7.25pm to quickly load up the Range Rover with books, slide projector and exhibits for the history talk and then to rush on to the State Room at Kimbolton Castle to give a talk on writing Little Paxton History to a good audience of the Kimbolton History Society. I split the talk; 20mins on my methods for writing a history book, 20mins presenting slides of old Little Paxton and the rest of the time taking questions.

Time for a quick coffee and the sale of two books as I packed up and made my way out. The next rush was to Holly Ward to see Della and to relieve Diana. Della was in a tetchy mood with her newly-wadded traction and it took me until 11.30 to settle her down. She had a return of the spasms and pain after her leg adjustment which was a shame. We hoped that the renewed pain meant that the traction was adjusting and anxiously awaited the results of the X-Ray and doctor's visit tomorrow.
