Two setbacks as we had the scare of Della falling over backwards from her crutches and needing hospital advice and then us finding our garage freezer switched off and a small fortune of food being spoilt. The City of London had a further surprise today as the U.S. reduced its interest rates by a full point which meant that U.K. firms would be at a disadvantage to their US competitors.

Earlier, I had worked my round St Neots completing some savings applications and getting some Christmas presents. Later, I prepared my mailing to the Broads Authority Planning Committee members prior to their Heronshaw site visit in the new year

Daniel left for Cheshire to see Angela and her family, and I retired to my office to get the savings transactions ready for taking to St Neots after lunch. I took Debbie with me then and left her in the library as I worked my way round the post office and other places to get my chores done. I finished off with getting some cards and small presents for the family before collecting Debbie and returning home. The day ended with a sickening shock for the family when Diana left Della on her crutches and our little daughter fell over backwards with a jolt that had us taking her off to the hospital to get advice. The duty casualty doctor felt she was O.K. and so we came home with Diana and Della somewhat diminished and me so very upset and angry so that I called the family together and then agreed new rules for supervising Della. This lost me a lot of time so that I stayed up late and prepared my mailing to the Broads Authority Planning Committee members and then went out and posted them all first class so that they would receive them before the Heronshaw site visit in the new year.
