Debbie riding out gingerly after the recent equine accidents

This was a big day for Debbie’s riding as she formed part of a nervous ride that ventured out gingerly after the recent equine accidents. A busy day as Di also took her to Ely for a children’s cathedral service and fun session, Della to her friends Caroline’s house in Caxton and Daniel to his friends Gary’s house in Cotton. This evening scanning drawings for my Paxton Park chapter as we had news of a new outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease in Central London and of the British Embassy evacuation in Karbul

I had a better night and we all awoke early to get Debbie off to the stables and Daniel to school. My cold had taken a turn for the worse today, but I soldiered on regardless. I got Debbie to the stables by 8am and spent an hour mucking out Sundance’s stall, feeding and grooming him. As there was no sign of a move to go out as a ride I brought Debbie back and so she still managed to go off for her swimming lesson and earn off between 9.30am and 10.00am.

Whilst Di took her to that, I worked on the fish pond doing a partial water change and then getting the large Ohgon into the bowl and treating its back wound with Mercurochrome again. It had not healed and seem to be invaded with white fungus, which was rather alarming. The small fish are very healthy now and so I did a partial change on their water so that it will become clean of the brown oxidised antibiotic residue over the next few days. The small ones even ate some pellets and seem very healthy now; but the larger ones still mope about, and I think that they also need an antibiotic bath. Once Debbie was home again, I took her back to the stables where they had formed a ride led by Anne and waiting for us to return. Debbie rode out for an hour which was a bit nerve wracking for her and the rest after the recent accidents. She need not have worried as Sundance behaved perfectly and did everything that she asked of him. Home for lunch and then Diana took Debbie off to Ely for a children’s cathedral service and fun session. She also dropped Della off at her friend Caroline’s house in Caxton and Daniel at his friend Gary’s house in Cotton. They were all supposed to be back by 4.30pm to 5.00pm but were not here until 6.00pm and so Debbie’s evening ride was missed and we could only arrive back at the riding school when all the others were leaving. We just made sure Sundance had its extra blanket on, some fresh water and checked it had been fed before coming home. This evening, I concentrated on making sure that I had all the scanned drawings on computer for my Paxton Park chapter which I will edit and expand over the next couple of days. There was news of a new outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease in central London, in the area of Oxford Street, but they do not know the source. The British Embassy has been evacuated from Karbul.
