With all of Di’s family joining us we were a party of 13 as we went to St James’s Church for the Family Carol service

An early start on a very windy morning to collect mum from Stanton and bring her back to Horning for Christmas. Then the 15 of us to St James’s Church for the Family Carol service before home to The Hayling View for tea.

This evening, I read my books on navigation as Mum chatted until we put the Christmas presents out and listening to the continued problems of the East of Europe

We were awake early today, as I had to go and collect Mum from Stanton. I took off in our Ford Escort at 8am and got to her place after 9am. The weather was a fine but it was a very windy morning and I had to take my time getting there. We loaded up Mums car, locked up the house, and got her into the car and we took the trip back which was swift and without incident. We then brought Mum in for the morning drinks and she enjoyed the rest of the day in Horning.

We had lunch and then, with all of Di’s family joining us, we went to St James’s Church for the Family Carol service. The church was literally packed full to overflowing people with people sitting in the chancel and behind the chair and standing at the back. I felt a bit guilty as we had brought 15 of us (enough to fill three pews) and it was really not fair taking up space during such a community event. Anyway, the service of carols was very much enjoyed and afterwards, the fifteen came back to the Hayling View for tea. This evening, I read my books on navigation as Mum chatted on until we put the Christmas presents out and went off to bed. The news was about the continued problems of the East of Europe with seasonal stories also taking the lead.
